David Webb FRICS, its founder, has been involved in the art world for 30 Years. His career began in London in 1974 working for a West End Valuation Company before joining Bonhams and then Sothebys, where he has worked for over twenty years. During this time he qualified as a chartered surveyor as well as being involved in all aspects of valuation work, cataloguing and house sale production. He headed the Valuation and Business Development Department at Sothebys in Sussex where he was also a board director. He was also a deputy director of Sothebys London where he was involved in valuations for the European Valuation Department. He went on to set up and manage the UK Valuation Department at Sotheby's new West London saleroom at Olympia.

Handling works of art on a daily basis has given him an insight into the practical issues of the valuation process. He is able to call upon a vast network of specialist contacts and will always take advice from the appropriate specialist in order to obtain the most accurate assessment available.
